Maximum Oppo for a B-52
I’m a fan of the notion of Viking funerals. While I don’t think this is the end of Oppo as some feared yesterday, I do think it is an opportunity to reflect and celebrate what we have here. In order to demonstrate maximum Oppo I would invite you to post the things you are most proud of writing here. Mine are below.
My family’s time on the Hot Rod Power Tour

I would if all my stuff wasn’t crap. Seriously though was looking around the web for a replacement oppo like site and nothing even comes close. We’re all gearheads here but our tastes are so varied you can’t help but learn stuff. Just look at your posts LeMans and the hot rod power tour. Not the mention the stupid inside jokes. Gonna miss it all if someone turns off the lights.

Im pretty proud of this road trip/dealing with anxiety chronicle, which was unfortunately buried by the bankruptcy news yesterday: http://oppositelock.kinja.com/2-000-miles-or…

When they first rolled out Kinja, one of the pitches about it was that it would encourage people to write more thoughtful posts. And despite the initial difficulties, I think Kinja did just that. There’s no way I would have undertaken this massive aviation history project if I hadn’t had a solid platform to write and format content, nor would I have started without a built-in audience. This has been a huge undertaking, and I don’t get as many comments as I’d like, but I know that people are reading them, and I’ve had some fantastic conversations with like-minded people about a topic that is near and dear to my heart. So, rather than post individual stories, I’ll put links to Aviation History and Planes You’ve (Probably) Never Heard Of.

Thanks. The links are a pain, but history never happens in a vacuum, and context is everything.

My most developed piece to date. Appropriate that Le Mans is next week.
